Every now and then I come across individuals who move me in some way, shape or fashion.

The type of individual who speaks softly and carries a big stick.....or in Aniekan Udofia's case......a big brush. 

 

 

I had the unexpected pleasure of watching a live art show at Tabaq Bistro during a Fela Kuti celebration and it was there that I first met artist/painter Aniekan Udofia. While Fela fans danced the night away, Aniekan painted a lively and colorful Fela Kuti masterpiece from memory. I watched in awe and was quite taken by the whole experience. At the end of the night I  introduced myself and complimented his work.

Needless to say, I appreciate his art.
